You need to be at least 15 and hold a PADI Open Water Diver certification or a qualifying equivalent. Previous sidemount experience is not required. Tell us about your recent diving and complete the required medical screening before training.
How Long Does the Course Take?
TDB’s course runs over four days, combining equipment preparation, confined-water practice and open-water training. Your instructor confirms the schedule according to your progress and sea conditions. The current online option is course only.
Is There Any Theory to Complete?
Yes. Hands-on practice is central to the course, but knowledge development and the required reviews are part of your training too. Certification follows successful completion of all knowledge and practical requirements.
Do I Need to Buy My Own Equipment?
Your course includes equipment rental. Before arrival, discuss your size and any equipment you own with the team, and confirm the sidemount harness, BCD and regulator configuration for your training.
Are Accommodation and Meals Included?
The current online option is course only; accommodation and meals are arranged separately. Contact us if you would like help planning a stay near the dive centre in Kampung Genting.
Does This Qualify Me for Cave or Technical Diving?
This is a recreational sidemount specialty. It develops your equipment configuration and diving skills; cave, overhead-environment and technical diving require their own appropriate training. Ask your instructor about a suitable next step.
How Do I Book an Arrival Date?
Open the course product, add it to your cart and check your participant count. At checkout, choose an available arrival date, enter the lead guest’s contact details and pay in full. Dates that are full or closed for the monsoon cannot be selected.
