Tec 40.

Tec 40 introduces qualified recreational divers to technical diving. The course combines knowledge development, practical applications and four training dives. Successful completion qualifies you for limited decompression dives to a maximum of 40 metres, using a decompression gas with up to 50% oxygen, within your training and applicable standards.

You must be 18 or older, hold Advanced Open Water and Enriched Air certifications or qualifying equivalents, and have at least 30 logged dives. You also need Deep Diver certification or proof of 10 dives to 30 metres or deeper, plus a physician-signed diving medical within the previous 12 months. Rescue Diver is recommended. Send your records to TDB so your instructor can check your eligibility.

Tec 40 takes 4 days and 3 nights (4D3N) when taken separately. Tec 45 and Tec 50 each follow the same 4D3N schedule when booked separately. Complete all three courses together — Tec 40, Tec 45 and Tec 50 — over 7 days and 6 nights (7D6N). Confirm your training dates with the instructor before booking travel; each course still requires you to meet its entry and performance requirements.

The fee is per person and includes Tec 40 learning materials, four training dives, the twin-tank set and deco stage, technical equipment rental, training gas fills and the PADI certification fee. Meals and accommodation are not included. Certification depends on successfully completing all course requirements.

TDB includes technical equipment rental in the course. Discuss your personal mask, fins, exposure protection and dive computer with the instructor before arrival, so the team can confirm the required setup, compatibility and fit.

Yes. Tec 45 and Tec 50 each take 4 days and 3 nights when booked separately. You can also plan Tec 40, Tec 45 and Tec 50 together over 7 days and 6 nights. Each course has its own entry and performance requirements; discuss your experience and goals with the TDB team before confirming the combined programme.
